Valentine’s Croissant

These crispy croissants are a real Valentine’s treat. Pressed flat for an extra crunchy bite, lightly caramelised and dipped in chocolate, then finished with festive decoration. Easy to make, yet irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

  • Straight Croissant from Gourmand Pastries
  • Baking paper
  • Baking tray
  • A second baking tray or flat weight to press the croissant
  • Fine granulated sugar (for caramelisation)
  • Chocolate for dipping
  • Optional toppings: Valentine’s decorations, sugar pearls, chocolate shavings, marshmallows, …

Method:

  • Let the croissants thaw for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Press both sides of the croissants into fine sugar to caramelise during baking. Place the croissants between baking paper, press them flat and bake in the oven with a baking tray on top of the croissants.
  • Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown and fully baked.
  • Let cool for 30 minutes on a rack.
  • Dip in chocolate and finish with Valentine-themed decoration.
